NBA 2K27 shot contest weighting and what it does to script timing

Contest weighting decides how much a defender's proximity degrades your shot. It does not change your release window, but it changes how much a perfect release is worth.

That distinction matters, because a script can be working perfectly while your percentage falls.

NBA 2K27 reached full release on September 4, 2026 and has already taken gameplay tuning since. This page is written against the build as of September 15, 2026, and we re-check it after every gameplay patch.

peakgpc does not sell scripts, subscriptions, or hardware. We are an independent reference and analysis site. Where a library is purchasable, it is purchased from its own site, never from us.

What changed for contest weighting on the retail build

The retail build re-weighted contests at the rim and on movement shots, so open-shot results and contested results now diverge more than they did in early access.

Late-contest animations resolve differently, which changes the visual feedback you were reading.

How we test it

  • Run 25 open shots and 25 contested shots as separate sets. Never average them.
  • Only accept a timing change that improves the open set; contested variance will hide small improvements.

Settings and values that actually matter

  • Tune on the open set, validate on the contested set.
  • Keep one jumpshot base fixed across both sets.

Where script libraries diverge

Libraries that expose per-shot-type timing let you handle this. A single global offset averages two different problems into one wrong value.

Peak by skygpc is our #1 ranked NBA 2K27 Cronus Zen script for this build: patch-aligned tuning, per-feature toggles, and published changelogs you can actually verify. It is purchased and supported only on skygpc.com — peakgpc sells nothing.

If it stops working

  • If only contested shots got worse, your timing is probably fine and the weighting changed.
  • Re-flash the newest Cronus Zen firmware and re-compile before changing any timing value.
  • Change one variable at a time and log it; two changes at once make every result unreadable.

Frequently asked

Can a script beat contest weighting?
No. It narrows release variance. Coverage, ratings, and shot quality still determine the outcome.
